Xplore Federal Credit Union Closing in Observation of Juneteenth
NEW ORLEANS, LA (June 8, 2021) — Xplore Federal Credit Union, a community charter credit union in Southern Louisiana, has announced their branches will be closed Friday, June 18th in observance of Juneteenth, which commemorates the ending of slavery in the United States. The Greater New Orleans area has a long history of preserving the history and significance of June 19, 1865; the date the last Confederate State abolished slavery.
“From visiting historic sites and research centers, to taking a moment to reflect on individual change and participation, we hope to encourage positive change in our communities,” stated Rafael Rondon, Xplore FCU President and CEO.
Last year Xplore FCU recognized Juneteenth as an observed company holiday, and will continue to do so as part of their diversity and inclusivity initiatives. New Orleans has many events in recognition of Juneteenth, and employees are encouraged to take this time to learn, engage, and commemorate this historic day.
While Xplore FCU branches and call center will be closed for business Friday, June 18th, their ATMs and other e-services, such as Online and Mobile Banking, will still be available for use.
